Rajnath credits Adityanath for Lucknow's development

Lucknow, Mar 11 (PTI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday credited UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for Lucknow's development, and emphasised that without the latter's cooperation, such progress would not have been achievable.

'This is no miracle of ours. Being an MP, I have played the role of an ally, while whatever the public representatives here said, kept happening,' Singh said.

Singh, also the Lucknow MP, was here to attend the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of 206 development projects worth Rs 3,666 crore at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan.

Adityanath was also present during this event.

On the occasion, Singh said, 'Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also asking on the stage if there is any other work left to be done.' Congratulating the UP chief minister, the defence minister said Lucknow is rapidly progressing towards prosperity.

He also enumerated various projects whose foundation was laid. He emphasised that today marks a momentous occasion in the history of Lucknow city.

The inauguration of an eight-lane outer ring road, valued at Rs 5,500 crore and spanning 104 km around the city, signifies a significant development. This corridor is going to start, he said.

The defence minister said the people of UP would not have imagined that the BrahMos missile would be made on UP's soil, and added that the work would be completed soon.

Highlighting the global recognition of Lucknow's economic growth, the defence minister referred to the prestigious agency Knight Frank, which publishes quarterly reports on economic progress. According to Knight Frank, Lucknow is among the top 10 cities worldwide with the most rapid increase in urban land values.

Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, Adityanath said the 'model of development that we are seeing in Lucknow is the dream of Atal ji, which is getting implemented on the ground'. Today, with the inauguration of Kisan Path, the problem of traffic jams in Lucknow is going to be solved, he said.

In the main programme organised at Gurugram in Haryana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 112 national highway projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore across the country.

This includes inauguration of three packages of eight-lane 104-km Lucknow outer ring road (Kisan Path) in UP at a cost of Rs 5,500 crore.

Adityanath also said with the help of DRDO, the defence ministry is also inaugurating the BrahMos Missile Centre in Lucknow. This will provide new opportunities for startups and employment to our youth.

Giving credit for the development work in Lucknow to the defence minister, Adityanath said the 'successful leadership that Lucknow has received is dedicated to the development of Lucknow along with the defence of the country'.

Deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Union Minister Kaushal Kishore, UP BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary and other BJP leaders were also present on this occasion, a statement said. PTI NAV KSS KSS
